REVITALIZING A HISTORIC NEW ENGLAND FARM
We're reinvigorating a 150 year old farm through regenerative agriculture. Animals rotationally graze on organic pasture. Fresh vegetables, herbs, flowers, and fruits grow in our raised garden beds and orchards. And a forest of oak, maple, pine, and hickory surrounds the farmland.
PASTURED ANIMALS
We're using rotational grazing and organic farming practices to sustain healthy pasture for our animals. They graze on perennial grasses and legumes like bluegrass, rye, clover, and alfalfa. Animals include:

-
Wagyu Beef Cows
-
Dorset & Romney Lambs
-
Berkshire & Ossabaw Island Pigs
-
Heritage Chickens & Turkeys
-
Boer & Myotonic Goats
-
Our friendly goose, Aurora

We incorporate our pasture-raised meats into event meals whenever possible.

ORGANIC GARDENS
Vegetables, herbs, and flowers thrive in our raised cedar garden beds, full of rich loam and compost. Our plantings vary season to season, and typically include:

-
Heirloom Tomatoes & Sweet Peppers
-
Cucumbers, Zucchini, & Summer Squash
-
Carrots, Snap Peas, Beans, & Leeks
-
Pumpkins & Melons
-
Basil, Chives, Rosemary, Thyme, Sage, Mint,
-
Zinnias, Sunflowers, Dahlias, and more
Wedding couples can work with a local florist to design bouquets and floral arrangements using our seasonal cut flowers. And we incorporate our vegetables and herbs into event meals whenever possible.
ORGANIC ORCHARDS
The centerpiece of our orchards are 39 organic blueberry bushes which supply an abundance of sweet berries during the summer months. And our recent orchard expansion soon promises:

-
Raspberries
-
Blackberries
-
Apples
-
Peaches
-
Nectarines
-
Sweet Cherries
-
Apricots
-
Pears
-
Honeyberries

FOREST
A classic New England forest of oak, maple, hickory, and pine surround The Farmstead. We sustainably harvest the forest for firewood, mulch, and other uses around the property. During your stay, you'll enjoy late night campfires in the firepit using our seasoned firewood.
Walking trails allow for casual hikes of varying lengths on marked trails, including a beautiful hike to the spring-fed Black Pond.
